Training programme for secretary generals of National Commissions for UNESCO wraps up in Azerbaijan
The training programme organised through the support of the ADA University, the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO and the Institute for Development and Diplomacy at ADA University has been completed.
The Secretaries General of the National Commissions for UNESCO of Benin, Niger, Togo, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gabon, Djibouti, Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Equatorial Guinea participated in the programme, Report informs.
Vice-Rector of ADA University, Director of the Institute for Development and Diplomacy Fariz Ismayilzade and his adviser Aygun Hajiyeva, as well as Secretary General of the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO Seymur Fataliyev presented certificates to the participants at the closing ceremony.
Hajiyeva made a presentation, noting that African diplomats were well informed about Azerbaijan thanks to lectures given by highly qualified lecturers from state institutions, professors and teachers of the ADA University.
Fataliyev expressed gratitude to the representatives of African countries for participating in the programme.
The main goal of the programme is to further develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and African countries within the UNESCO.
The participants held meetings with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Chairman of the International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Committee of the Azerbaijani parliament Samad Seyidov and Deputy Chairman of the Committee Sevinj Fataliyeva, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev within the programme.
The cooperation issues within UNESCO, the activity of the Azerbaijani parliament, etc. were discussed during the meetings.
