Trump vows to improve relations with Russia, China if re-elected
Former US President and current Republican candidate Donald Trump has pledged to maintain positive relations with other nations, particularly China and Russia.
"We will have good relations with China, we will have good relations with Russia, and with everyone in general," Trump stated during a speech at his Mar-a-Lago residence on October 29, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Trump highlighted that during his first term, he kept active diplomatic channels open with key leaders, including those of Russia, China, and North Korea.
Notably, nearly 186.5 million Americans will vote on November 5, 2024 to decide the United States' 47th president.
Beyond the presidential contest, Americans will elect candidates for numerous federal, state, and local roles. Nationally, voters will choose the president and members of both chambers of Congress – the House of Representatives and the Senate. Donald Trump faces Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race, following Joe Biden’s withdrawal after a troubled initial debate with Trump.
A few key battleground states are expected to shape the election outcome. Pennsylvania remains crucial, while Trump aims to reclaim Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Nevada, all narrowly won by Biden in 2020. Once competitive, Florida and Ohio are now considered reliably Republican, although shifts could occur.
On election day, most Americans vote in person, though many will have used postal or early voting. Polls close at varying times across states, with initial results often available while voting continues in states like Alaska and Hawaii.
While the final tally may take time, a projected winner is typically announced shortly after election day. New president will assume office on January 20, 2025.
