Ukrainian leader hopes Trump understands who’s ally and who’s enemy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed hope that US President Donald Trump clearly understands who America’s true allies and enemies are.
The Ukrainian leader expressed hope for a meeting with Trump during this week’s NATO summit in The Hague, scheduled for June 24-25 and confirmed that preparations for the potential meeting are underway, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Zelenskyy said that they were planning to meet and, to be honest, he didn’t know how it would go, adding that the team was working on it.
He added that both delegations are currently coordinating the timing. The Ukrainian president also underscored the strategic importance of the Ukraine-US relations.
Zelenskyy noted that he did not know what kind of relationship Trump had with Putin, mentioning that there were mixed signals about it. However, he expressed confidence that President Trump understood that Ukrainians are America’s allies and that Russia is a true existential enemy of the United States. He added that while Russia and the US might be partners for a brief period, they would never be true friends.
