Two injured as hundreds of Russian strikes hit Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region PHOTO/VIDEO
At least two civilians were injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region over the past day, amid a sharp increase in strikes on populated areas, regional authorities said.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, a total of 737 strikes were recorded across 27 settlements in the region within 24 hours. The attacks included nine airstrikes, four multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) strikes, and 275 artillery strikes, Caliber.Az reports.
In addition, Russian forces deployed 449 drones of various types, most of them FPV (first-person-view) drones, targeting towns and villages in the Zaporizhzhia and Polohiv districts, Fedorov said.
Authorities have received 54 reports of damage to civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, vehicles, and other facilities. Emergency services are continuing to assess the extent of the destruction, while information on the condition of the injured is still being clarified.
