Odesa risks losing access to drinking water within 15 years

The Ukrainian city of Odesa could run out of drinking water within 10 to 15 years unless measures are taken to address its long-term water supply, Serhii Sukhomlyn, head of Ukraine's State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, said.

“Ukraine needs to build a large water pipeline for Odesa and Kherson,” Sukhomlyn said.

He said the issue of securing Odesa's water supply needed to be addressed now, warning that the city could otherwise be left without drinking water within the next 10 to 15 years.
