Russian drone attacks spark fires in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia PHOTO/VIDEO
Russian forces carried out two drone attacks on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia overnight between January 1 and January 2, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
The first wave of strikes occurred late on January 1, triggering three fires. An unoccupied building next to a multi-story residential block caught fire, along with two agricultural buildings. Debris from the explosions damaged nearby residential buildings, roads, and several vehicles, emergency officials said, Caliber.Az reports.

A second attack followed during the night of January 2, setting a shopping center ablaze. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing further damage. Bomb disposal specialists later inspected the area to ensure no hazardous drone fragments remained.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
