US expands sanctions list on Russia
Some 58 Russians and several dozen companies, including Rostec corporation, KAMAZ company and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) have been subject to the new US sanctions related to Russia's hostilities in Ukraine.
“The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has today imposed sanctions on 70 legal entities, most of them play an important role in the defence sector of the Russian Federation. In particular, sanctions are being imposed against Rostec state corporation, as well as against 29 Russian individuals," Interfax reports referring to the decisions of the US Department of the Treasury and the US Department of State.
The US Department of State also imposed sanctions against 45 more legal entities and 29 individuals, the statement on the website of the Finance Ministry says.
TV presenter Tina Kandelaki and former Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov, as well as his children Sergei and Natalya and his wife Evgenia Vasilyeva, were subject to the new sanctions.
