US, India postpone trade deal meeting
A three-day meeting between Indian and American officials to finalize the legal text of a temporary trade agreement between the two countries, which was scheduled to begin in Washington on February 23, has been postponed, unnamed sources told NDTV.
One source confirmed that the planned visit by the Indian delegation to Washington to finalize the bilateral trade agreement will take place after both countries have studied the latest developments related to the US Supreme Court's decision.
A decision will be taken to set a new date for the meeting that is convenient for both sides, he added.
On February 20, US President Donald Trump, against the backdrop of the Supreme Court's ruling against the use of import duties, announced the signing of an executive order imposing 10% tariffs on imports from all countries. They will come into force on February 24 and will remain in effect for 150 days.
