US reveals details of next aid package to Ukraine
The United States has revealed the details of a new aid package to Ukraine, announced on April 24 by the US State Secretary Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.
According to the statement, the US has allocated $713 million for Ukraine, fifteen NATO member countries as well as partners from Central and Eastern Europe, RBC-Ukraine reports.
The package includes $650 million in funding under the Supplemental Appropriations Law for Ukraine, of which over $322 million is intended to provide its Armed Forces with more advanced weapons and air defense systems
Blinken also said that the US will sell $165 million worth of war bonds to purchase munitions for Ukraine.
Since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the US has provided about $3.7 billion in aid and a total of over $4.3 billion has been funded since Biden’s Administration came to office in 2020.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv on April 25, where they held a number of meetings, including with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
