Erdoğan tells Zelenskyy Ankara ready to host Ukraine peace summit
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Türkiye stands ready to host a leaders’ summit aimed at securing tangible progress towards a ceasefire and lasting peace in Ukraine.
Speaking by phone at Kyiv’s request, the two leaders discussed bilateral ties as well as pressing regional and global developments, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Erdoğan underlined the significance of the progress achieved during previous Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul, calling for momentum to be maintained and translated into concrete outcomes.
He proposed the establishment of dedicated working groups in the military, humanitarian and political spheres to prepare the ground for a high-level meeting.
The Turkish leader reaffirmed Ankara’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that Türkiye remains committed to facilitating dialogue and de-escalation at the highest level.
