Norway’s prime minister to testify in parliament over Epstein case PHOTO

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre is due to testify at parliamentary hearings concerning American financier Jeffrey Epstein, Kristian Haugeland, an adviser to the Storting’s Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs, told NRK.

Støre, who previously served as foreign minister, has been summoned for the first day of the hearings on September 30. Former foreign ministers Børge Brende, who served from 2013 to 2017, and Ine Eriksen Søreide are also scheduled to appear before the committee that day.

Current Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide and former Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt are due to testify on October 1.

The parliamentary hearings will examine the ties between Norwegian representatives and Epstein, as well as issues related to the actions of Norwegian state institutions. The Storting decided to launch the inquiry following the publication of new documents related to the case.
