US Strategic Command launches exercise Global Thunder 25
US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) initiated its annual nuclear command and control exercise, known as Global Thunder 25 (GT25).
This exercise engages personnel from across the strategic enterprise, including USSTRATCOM components and subordinate units, Caliber.Az reports via US sources.
The primary aim of GT25 is to bolster nuclear readiness and ensure a safe, secure, and effective strategic deterrent force.
This is a routine exercise conducted annually and is not a response to the actions of any nation, other actors, or current global events.
In addition to US forces, GT25 will involve key allies and NATO partners, including personnel from the United Kingdom, who will integrate into senior leadership teams. They will collaborate across a wide range of areas, providing policy support and operational insights.
As in previous years, Global Thunder 25 will see an increase in bomber and other aircraft operations throughout the duration of the exercise.
US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) operates as a global warfighting command, focused on deterring strategic attacks through a reliable and credible global combat capability. When directed, it remains prepared to prevail in conflict.
