Was IRGC Gen. Zahedi behind the October 7 attack on Israel?

The "Coalition Council of Islamic Revolution Forces," an Iranian political organisation, has released a statement firmly stating that General Mohammad Reza Zahedi was the mastermind behind the 7 October attack on Israel.

According to NEWSru.co.il, citing the Oriental Express Telegram channel, the statement credits General Zahedi with an important role in forming and strengthening the resistance front and planning and executing the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.

It is evident from the Iranian media's coverage that they are perplexed by the official version of Tehran, which claims that the recent attack was exclusively planned and executed by Hamas. The "Coalition Council of Islamic Revolution Forces" has contradicted the Iranian authorities' stance, further fueling the confusion.

The funeral of seven Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers held on April 5 in Tehran, which was attended by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saw thousands of Iranians calling for revenge against Israel.
