Naval Group expands drone portfolio with advanced surface, submarine systems

05 November 2024 09:09

Naval innovation is advancing rapidly with the introduction of new surface drones designed to enhance maritime capabilities.

The Seaquest S is the inaugural model in a series of surface drones developed by Naval Group through its subsidiary Sirehna, in collaboration with the Couach-CNC shipyard. This unmanned surface vessel (USV) is designed with a modular approach to cater to the operational needs of various users, including government agencies (some of which may require weapon capabilities) and civilian organisations. The first production unit was launched in July 2024, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

Naval Group provides solutions tailored to its customers' requirements for naval drones and autonomous systems, including multi-mission capabilities that can be operated autonomously or remotely, and easily integrated into existing fleets. Its product line for drones and autonomous systems is organized into four categories, which can be expanded incrementally: these start with simple, robust products that deliver quick operational value and can be enhanced in terms of capacity and performance.

The Seagent range includes submarine drones (UUV) and autonomous systems available in M and XL formats.

The Seaquest range features surface drones (USV) and autonomous systems offered in S, M, and L formats.

The Steeris range encompasses STEERIS On Board (which provides controlled decision-making autonomy), the STEERIS Mission System (a multi-drone, multi-environment mission system), and STEERIS Command, a containerized version that facilitates the deployment of drones from land or opportunistic ships.

The Sealken range focuses on solutions for the naval integration and deployment of drones from armed vessels, including both surface ships and submarines.
