Zelenskyy backs Macron's call for sending EU troops to Ukraine
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that he was supporting French President Emmanuel Macron’s idea of sending European Union (EU) ground forces to Ukraine.
“If any initiatives in the world strengthen Ukraine, they are good for the whole world,” Caliber.Az quotes him as saying.
“We need to survive, and for Ukraine to survive this means having very specific solutions. It is very important. I was not at the summit where Macron voiced the idea, he said that he would talk about certain new ideas on how to strengthen Ukraine and share information when he arrives in Ukraine...,” Zelenskyy said.
Previously, Macron did not rule out sending troops from Western countries to Ukraine.
Before this, Emmanuel Macron, at a conference on supporting Ukraine in Paris, said that Ukraine’s Western allies had formed a coalition to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons. According to his information, the association was created in order to attract all states that have defence capabilities and launch the supply of new weapons to Ukraine.
