Greece, Ukraine agree on US LNG supplies
Greek and Ukrainian gas companies signed a memorandum of understanding at the residence of the Greek prime minister on the supply of U.S. LNG to Ukraine from December 2025 to March 2026.
The signing ceremony was broadcast by the Greek TV channel ERT-news.
The memorandum of intent was signed in the presence of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle.
According to the newspaper Proto Thema, “the signing of the memorandum of intent between Greece’s DEPA Trading and Ukraine’s Naftogaz on the supply of U.S. LNG to Ukraine from December 2025 to March 2026 will represent a major contribution to regional and European energy security and resilience, while also supporting Ukraine during a difficult winter.”
“The Greek government sources noted that the country’s energy infrastructure ensures stable natural gas supplies,” the publication adds.
Zelenskyy arrived in the Greek capital for talks with the country’s leadership on cooperation in the energy and defence sectors. He has already met with the President of Greece, Konstantinos Tasoulas.
Talks then began with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. A meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, is also planned.
