Ukraine’s allies pledge new wave of military support after Ramstein

Partner countries have announced new military aid commitments for Ukraine following the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in the Ramstein format, with the packages including air defence missiles, drones, artillery ammunition, aircraft and funding for weapons procurement.

The information was disclosed in a statement issued by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence on September 8.

According to the ministry, the announced contributions include:

• Germany — new deliveries of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defence systems and F-16 fighter jets, as well as funding for drone procurement.

• The United Kingdom — £100 million for the purchase of US weapons through the PURL mechanism. Ukraine is also expected to receive 95,000 additional drones by the end of the year, along with tens of thousands of long-range artillery shells.

• The Netherlands — $300 million for the “Drone Line” project and 300 missiles designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles.

• Estonia — continued military support for Ukraine in 2027 at a level of at least 0.25% of GDP.

• Norway — the previously announced $200 million for the procurement of Patriot missiles.

• Spain — €2 million for fuel through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, as well as air defence missiles and artillery ammunition.

• Lithuania — $10 million for the PURL mechanism.

• Poland — a new €50 million military aid package, including air defence systems.

• Sweden — a $28 million support package, with $14 million allocated to PURL.

The meeting placed particular emphasis on the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces and measures to strengthen their military capabilities.

“The meeting yielded the following results,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence said.

The announced measures include additional Patriot missiles, air defence equipment, drones, artillery ammunition and funding for the procurement of US-made weapons through the PURL mechanism.

The partners also reaffirmed their commitment to providing military assistance to Ukraine in 2027 and announced additional aid packages.

Earlier, it was reported that Poland was preparing a new €50 million military aid package for Ukraine following the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in the Ramstein format.
