Moldova warns of possible fatalities from Russian drone incidents
Moldovan Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatîi has warned that Russian drone incidents could potentially result in fatalities in Moldova as the war in Ukraine continues.
Nosatîi made the remarks following a series of drone-related incidents in the region, including an attack near the Moldova-Ukraine border and the recent entry of a Russian drone into Moldovan airspace, TV8 reports.
“We cannot rule out fatalities in the near future,” Nosatîi said. “As long as the war continues and Russia attacks civilian targets, these consequences may spread to other countries located near the conflict zone.”
Nosatîi acknowledged that Moldova still has gaps in its air-defence capabilities, particularly in countering newer types of drones used in attacks.
