Ternopil death toll climbs to 19 after Russian strike photo
The number of casualties from the Russian missile strike on residential neighborhoods in Ternopil continues to increase.
According to updated information, 19 people have been killed and 66 injured, among them 16 children.
Rescue teams have pulled 45 people from under the rubble and evacuated them to safety.
The figures were released by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES). Earlier, the National Police had reported 16 fatalities and 64 wounded, including 14 children. Authorities say that both critical and industrial infrastructure were damaged in the strike zone, and specialists are still assessing the extent of destruction.

The Office of the Prosecutor General stated that Russian missiles and drones struck two residential buildings on Stusa Street and 15 April Street, as well as damaging a nearby industrial facility.
SES personnel, members of the Delta special forces unit, dog handlers, medics, and other emergency workers remain on-site, continuing firefighting and debris-clearing operations.

The attacks took place during a massive Russian barrage on November 19. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that several nine-story apartment buildings were hit, causing extensive destruction, and warned that people might still be trapped beneath the debris.
Earlier in the day, at 10:00 a.m., Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported 10 dead and 37 injured, including 12 children. Those figures were later revised upward as rescue efforts continued and additional victims were found.
