Trump calls New York governor "stupid" for siding with Canada
US President Donald Trump has launched a sharp attack on New York Governor Kathy Hochul, accusing her of siding with Canada in a dispute over the name of Lake Ontario and endorsing Republican Bruce Blakeman in the state’s gubernatorial race.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Hochul a “Stupid Governor” and accused her of not caring about New York State.
“Stupid Governor Kathy Hochul, who doesn’t care about New York State, has announced that she is on the side of Canada, which has been ripping us off for decades on Trade and Tariffs,” Trump wrote.
Trump said Hochul was being targeted because she was considered “Weak and Ineffective” and criticised her opposition to the use of the name “Lake America”.
“She doesn’t want us to use the name, ‘Lake America,’ she’d rather have Canada get a win,” Trump wrote.
He also accused Hochul of allowing other countries and states to take advantage of New York, saying the state was treated like “garbage”.
Trump then endorsed Bruce Blakeman, saying: “That is why Bruce Blakeman is going to be your next Governor. He’s an ‘animal,’ he fights like hell, he doesn’t let anyone else win. He’s for the people. He’s smart and cunning, and will Lower your Taxes, and Stop Crime.”
“VOTE FOR BRUCE BLAKEMAN!” Trump concluded.
