Russia says France deceiving Armenia by slipping it "illiquid" weapons

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said the West deceives Armenia by supplying it with “illiquid” armoured vehicles.

"Today we have given a lot of examples of how the West knows how to deceive, and we do not want the people of Armenia to be deceived by Western friends again. The thing is that we have already talked about it," Zakharova said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

"As for France and these Bastion armoured vehicles - they are illiquid. This is obvious even from the situation unfolding in the context of the special military operation [in Ukraine]. I commented on this in detail during the briefing on 22 November, if many media, related to the current authorities of Armenia, would not distort this information, would not engage in anti-journalistic activities, but would allow the people of their country to get acquainted with the quotes and direct speech, it would probably be clearer that indeed, once again, the people of Armenia, unfortunately, are presented a fake from the outside. Why a fake? Because this hodgepodge of military equipment produced by different countries has never contributed to the improvement of defence capacity. It is obvious," she noted.

She touched upon the statement of the Armenian Defence Ministry that all problems should be solved in the atmosphere of partnership, noting that Russia can only welcome it: "The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has a similar attitude."
