Armenia, Georgia endorse International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Putin Azerbaijan abstains from supporting document
Armenia and Georgia have signed a declaration from the Council of Europe (CoE) endorsing the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The declaration outlines principles for addressing key justice issues related to the conflict in Ukraine. The declaration was adopted by justice ministers from CoE member states and observer countries at a meeting chaired by Lithuania. The principles included in the declaration are advisory in nature, Caliber.Az reports, citing the document published on the CoE website.
In addition to Armenia and Georgia, the declaration has been supported by Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Moldova, as well as the United States, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and several other countries. However, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, and Serbia have abstained from supporting the document.
