Pundit: France not to sacrifice its interests in Azerbaijan for sake of Armenia

Armenian political scientist Suren Surenyantshas said that France will not sacrifice its interests in Azerbaijan for the sake of Armenia.

“Let’s put the emphasis correctly: Nikol Pashinyan’s main goal is not the document that he proposes. The main goal is to change the strategic orientation of Armenia and remove Russia from the region. And he willingly became a satellite of the West or Western interests to carry out this vile mission. This is his main goal," Surenyants stated in an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

“For the West, this problem is very important, because it wants an Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty and a post-conflict situation that will weaken the influence of Russia and Iran in the region. And in this process, what happens to Armenia is not of much interest to the West.

Don't have any sudden illusions. Armenian-French relations may be friendly, but they are not strategic. For various reasons, France cannot be a guarantor of Armenia's security.

Firstly, because France cannot ally with Armenia, which is not a NATO member, against Turkey, which is a NATO member. From a logistical point of view, France cannot appear here. And without putting it into more complex words, it will become clear that Western ships cannot reach our mountains.

Besides this, who said that France has no interest in Azerbaijan and who said that France will sacrifice its interests for the sake of the interests of Armenia? France has a very significant presence in the energy system of Azerbaijan. France is interested in delivering uranium from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan and, ultimately, to France via a transport line passing through Armenia.
