Kazakhstan not to hold military parade on May 9

The Kazakh Defence Ministry does not plan to hold a military parade this year dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is celebrated on May 7, and Victory Day on May 9.

“A military parade will not be held in Kazakhstan in 2024 to save budgetary funds, as well as due to the need to solve other problems. In particular, the priority is to maintain the required level of combat readiness and mobility of units of the Kazakh Armed Forces,” the ministry told TASS.

Kazakhstan did not hold military parades in 2022 and 2023 either for the same reasons. There was no military parade in 2021 and 2020 due to the epidemic situation amid the COVID-19 spread.
