EU discloses medical equipment sent to Azerbaijan

Policy officer of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Crtomir Fisinger has said that the national partners have been provided with 521 pieces of medical equipment, including six mechanical ventilators and one BiPAP machine, 81 patient monitors, 141 oxygen concentrator and 229 pulse oximeters within the “Solidarity for Health Initiative” a joint project of the European Union (EU) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) since April 2020.

“During this period, more than one million personal protective equipment and 17,600 hand hygiene kits were provided to Azerbaijani medical institutions to protect the health of personnel involved in the fight against COVID-19,” Fisinger made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the project, according to Report.

He added that the prevention and control of infections were assessed at 23 health facilities, the treatment of COVID-19 patients was assessed at five health facilities, and the use of medical oxygen supply systems was assessed at seven health facilities within the project. The corresponding recommendations were given.
