Video footage shows why Russians retreat from Snake Island in Ukraine VIDEO

Russian forces have abandoned the infamous Snake (Zmiinyi) Island in an embarrassing step back amidst a heavy Ukrainian offensive.

The retreat came just days after the strategic outpost in the Black Sea sustained bombardment from Ukrainian forces, The Sun reports.

Despite Russia seizing control of the island at the start of the war, a massive attack launched by Ukraine in the last week caused “significant losses” to the Russian army.

In video footage posted on The Sun’s YouTube channel, the Ukrainian drone fleet is seen destroying the Russian positions and equipment in Zmiinyi.
