UK foreign secretary vows to ensure Russia’s defeat in Ukraine
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has said she intends to ensure Russia's defeat in the war against Ukraine if she becomes the country's prime minister.
“I am nominating myself because I can be a leader, I can deliver results and make difficult decisions. I have a clear vision of where we need to go, as well as experience and determination to achieve this goal. I will run as a conservative and govern as a conservative. I will quickly and efficiently start working as Prime Minister to take care of the defeat of Vladimir Putin in Ukraine and keep the economy running,” Truss wrote, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing The Telegraph.
Truss also recalled her successes in various positions in the British government. She especially noted that as British Foreign Secretary she helped her country lead the international response to the war that Russia unleashed against Ukraine, as well as impose tough sanctions that “caused real pain to [Russian Presidents Vladimir] Putin and the Kremlin.”
