Poland expects Trump to visit in June ahead of NATO Summit
U.S. President Donald Trump may visit Poland before the NATO summit in The Hague on June 24–25, head of the Presidential International Policy Bureau Wojciech Kolarski said.
Speaking to Polish Radio on May 2, Kolarski revealed that the invitation was initially extended during Polish President Andrzej Duda’s first phone call with Trump on November 11.
“For some time now, we’ve been receiving indications that President Trump’s schedule wouldn’t allow it – that it was too early,” Kolarski said, Caliber.Az reports per Polish media.
He added that Trump’s first foreign visits are expected in May, with Saudi Arabia likely to be the first destination.
“Therefore, we anticipate that a visit to Poland may occur before the NATO summit in The Hague, which will take place on June 24–25”, Kolarski noted.
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda flew to the United States to meet with Donald Trump on the sidelines of The Conservative Political Action Conference back in February.
