Pakistan army general: Any provocation or aggression will be "firmly countered"
Pakistan remained desirous of peace in the region, but any provocation or aggression would be “firmly countered,” Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir said as he oversaw a high-intensity military exercise at the Tilla Field Firing Ranges.
The warning came during Exercise Hammer Strike, a large-scale operation by the Mangla Strike Corps to assess combat readiness, coordination, and integration of modern weapon systems in near-battlefield conditions, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
While reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, the COAS issued a stern message to India, declaring: “Any military misadventure by India will be met with a swift, resolute, and notch-up response.” He added, “Let there be no ambiguity -- Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.”
The exercise featured coordinated manoeuvres by troops from all arms and services, showcasing the use of multirole fighter jets, combat aviation platforms, long-range precision artillery, and advanced field engineering. The display reflected what ISPR described as “Pakistan Army’s increasing absorption of niche and emerging technologies to augment its kinetic and non-kinetic operational capabilities.”
General Munir commended the professionalism and high morale of participating troops, describing them as “the embodiment of Pakistan Army’s operational excellence.” He praised the Mangla Strike Corps for its combat proficiency and adaptability.
Senior military officials, formation commanders, and dignitaries from various services attended the exercise, which ISPR said highlighted the army’s emphasis on rigorous training, doctrinal innovation, and technological modernisation to address evolving threats.
