Ukrainian FM: Ship carrying “stolen grain” will not be unloaded in Israel
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said the vessel PANORMITIS, which Kyiv accuses of illegally transporting grain from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, will not unload its cargo in Israel.
Sharing a post on X, he valued this as a positive development, Caliber.Az reports.
He added that the outcome demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukraine’s legal and diplomatic efforts and serves as a “clear signal” to other vessels, captains, operators, insurers, and governments.
“Do not buy stolen Ukrainian grain. Do not become part of this crime,” Sybiha noted, adding that Ukraine will continue monitoring the vessel and warning against any dealings involving it.
He also said Ukraine will further strengthen international sanctions against what he described as Russia’s “shadow grain fleet.”
Earlier reports said an Israeli wheat importer had decided to delay unloading the shipment amid growing diplomatic tensions with Ukraine.
