IDF eliminates Hamas militant planning imminent attack on Israeli forces PHOTO
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have neutralised a Hamas operative who was planning to attack Israeli military forces in the near future.
In a Telegram post, the IDF announced that the name of the eliminated individual was Ibrahim Abu Tzakar.
“Yesterday (Wednesday), the IDF struck and eliminated Ibrahim Abu Tzakar, a Hamas terrorist.
Abu Tzakar had planned to carry out an imminent terror attack against IDF troops. Throughout the war, he led and advanced numerous attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel,” the IDF press service said.
The army added that Abu Tzakar also worked as a paramedic within Hamas’s medical services, which the military described as posing a threat to both Gaza’s medical system and civilian population.
“Prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.
IDF troops in the Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat to Israeli civilians and IDF troops,” the army's statement read.
