Drone strike in northern Israel injures 12 soldiers

A drone exploded in the northern town of Shomera, wounding twelve Israeli soldiers on April 29.

Two of the soldiers were in moderate condition, while the other ten sustained light injuries, Caliber.Az reports, citing N12.

Sources said the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are investigating whether the drone was equipped with fibre-optic explosive technology, which is difficult to intercept.

Such drones have previously been used in attacks in southern Lebanon.

Military officials said this is the first known case of a drone of this type crossing into Israeli territory and striking a target inside the country.
