Ukrainian Security Service claims damage to key Russian refinery unit VIDEO
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said its units carried out a strike on one of Russia’s largest oil refineries, Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez, located near the city of Perm.
In an official statement, the SBU said drones operated by its Special Operations Centre “Alpha” had been targeting Russian oil infrastructure in the region for a second consecutive day. The refinery, situated more than 1,500 kilometres from Ukraine, was struck during the latest operation.
According to the statement, the facility is among Russia’s крупнейшие refineries, with an annual processing capacity of nearly 13 million tons, supplying fuel to both civilian sectors and the Russian military.
Preliminary information cited by the SBU indicated that the AVT-4 unit — a key component of primary oil refining — was hit in the strike. As a result, both vacuum and atmospheric distillation columns caught fire, and damage to these units has effectively put the installation out of operation.
The SBU also reported a repeat strike on the Perm linear production and dispatch station, which supplies crude oil to the refinery. The same facility had been targeted by SBU drones the previous day, and new fires were reported there following the latest attack.
In its statement, the agency emphasised that distance no longer guarantees protection, asserting that all regions where infrastructure supports Russia’s war effort are within reach. The SBU said it has demonstrated its capacity to conduct long-range strikes and will continue to target such facilities systematically.
