Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes off Indonesia’s Maluku Islands

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 has struck the Banda Sea, near the Maluku Islands in eastern Indonesia, the ​country's geophysics ​agency has said.

It noted that the earthquake struck at a depth of 143 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing Reuters.

No tsunami warning was issued. There have been no reports of damage or casualties so far.
