Archbishop: Azerbaijan teaches Armenia lesson
Armenian Archbishop Mikael Ajapahian has said that Armenia lost Karabakh, and the page of Karabakh is closed.
“Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev teaches us what we should have done in 1994. Then we could not go further, we could not force Azerbaijan to sign a peace agreement, we got scared and stopped. Now Azerbaijan teaches us how to do it. The Azerbaijanis taught us the biggest lesson, but we are unable to understand this lesson. We have failed to become a state-creating nation, and we have not been a nation capable of creating a nation-state. We lost because we were pathetic, we were cowards, waiting for patrons on the right and left to get the go-ahead, and we will continue losing,” Ajapahian told media, Caliber.Az reports.
“Is it possible to reverse the situation if a new government comes? I think we've passed the point of no return. I have repeatedly said that nothing is irreversible, but taking into account objective and subjective factors, especially subjective ones, I think that this is irreversible. Indeed, we lost Karabakh, the page of Karabakh is closed. All other unfounded statements that we will return Karabakh, we will return there are futile. We were defeated by our cowardice. Azerbaijan is reasonable, and it teaches us how to be reasonable,” the archbishop said.
