Drone strike hits factory in Russia's Izhevsk, leaving three dead

01 July 2025 15:16

A drone attack on an industrial facility in Izhevsk, located in Russia’s Udmurt Republic, has claimed the lives of three individuals and left more than 30 others injured and hospitalised.

The information was confirmed by Udmurtia’s regional governor, Aleksandr Brechalov, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“With great sorrow, I must report that we have lost three lives. My deepest condolences go out to their families,” Brechalov wrote on his official Telegram channel.

He further reported that a total of 35 people have been hospitalised following the strike, with 10 of them currently in serious condition.

The attack targeted both the manufacturing and storage sections of the facility, situated more than 1,300 kilometres from the presumed launch point. At least two direct hits were recorded, which led to a fire breaking out at the site.

The affected enterprise, Kupol, is known for producing the Tor and Osa surface-to-air missile systems. In addition, the company is involved in the development of Harpy-type attack drones.
