Armenian Constitutional Court approves border delimitation regulation with Azerbaijan
The Constitutional Court of Armenia has officially approved a draft regulation governing the work of commissions involved in border delimitation with Azerbaijan, deeming it compliant with the country's constitution.
According to a statement from the press service of the Constitutional Court, the regulation, titled “On the joint activities of the State Commission on the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, and the Commission on the delimitation of the state border and border security issues between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan,” was signed on August 30, 2024, Caliber.Az reports.
The Court's decision confirms that the obligations outlined in the regulation align with Armenia's constitutional framework. The ruling will take effect immediately upon publication on the official website of the Constitutional Court.
This development marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to address border issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan, highlighting the importance of legal frameworks in facilitating dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
