Azerbaijan, Chinese state-owned company explore military cooperation PHOTO
On the final day of the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX), Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan, engaged in discussions with representatives from the China National Precision Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CPMIEC) at the Baku Expo Center.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for joint military-technical cooperation and addressing other matters of mutual interest, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence told Caliber.Az.
This dialogue reflects Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to strengthen its defence capabilities through international partnerships.
The discussions come amid a broader context of enhancing military relations between Azerbaijan and China.
The first ADEX exhibition was established in 2014. This year it celebrates its 5th anniversary, continuously expanding its participant list and the sectors it covers with each edition. Over the past decade, the exhibition has brought together numerous companies and nearly 200 official delegations representing more than 50 countries worldwide. More than 30,000 visitors have attended the event during these years.
The 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition ADEX, along with being the largest event in the region dedicated to the defence industry, showcases the strength and power of the country's military and industrial complex.
More than 218 companies from around 40 countries of the world are involved in this year's exhibition.
The exhibition is held on the initiative and with the organisational support of the Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan and support of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan. The organizer of the exhibition is the Caspian Event Organisers, and its international partner, Caspian Event Management.
In addition to Azerbaijan, the participating countries include Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Turkiye, UAE, Ukraine, UK, USA, and others.
This year's exhibitions have been refreshed with new companies, which make up 34 per cent of the total number of participants. Among the participating countries, Hungary, Qatar, Singapore, and Slovakia are new additions to the exhibitions compared to 2022.
