Armenian official hints at possible withdrawal from CSTO
Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan has indicated that Armenia may consider withdrawing from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), stating that such a possibility cannot be entirely ruled out.
Addressing a briefing, Simonyan mentioned the growing uncertainties surrounding Armenia’s commitment to the military alliance, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"Nothing can be ruled out," Simonyan said in response to a journalist's inquiry about Armenia's future in the CSTO.
His comments follow recent statements by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who disclosed that Armenia had suspended its participation in the CSTO.
Pashinyan also accused two CSTO member states of preparing for war against Armenia but refrained from naming them, citing the matter as inexpedient.
