Turkish president affirms continued support for Syria in counterterrorism efforts
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Syria in its fight against terrorism, following a deadly terrorist attack near Damascus.
In a statement shared on his official X account, President Erdogan strongly condemned the June 22 attack on a church located in the suburbs of the Syrian capital, Caliber.Az reports.

“We will never allow our neighbour and brother Syria, which is looking to its future with hope for the first time after years of oppression and conflict, to be dragged into a new environment of instability by front terrorist organisations,” Erdogan stated.
The Turkish leader further underlined that Ankara would continue to back the Syrian government in its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, emphasizing the importance of regional stability and cooperation in addressing security threats.
