Iran’s top military commander warns US of retaliation
Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, has issued a strongly worded statement following what Tehran described as a direct military strike by the United States on Iranian territory.
Calling the move a “clear violation” of Iranian sovereignty, Mousavi accused Washington of directly entering the ongoing conflict in the region by backing what he referred to as the “savage and aggressive Zionist regime,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
“The criminal United States has now openly joined the war and attacked our sacred soil,” he said in an official message.
“By doing so, it has not only deepened its complicity with the Zionist entity but also freed the hands of Iran’s armed forces to respond in any way we deem necessary.”
Mousavi warned that any future response would target both American military assets and strategic interests, adding that the Iranian military “will not hold back” in exercising its right to respond.
