Asian Parliamentary Assembly sets $1 million budget for future initiatives
During the ongoing Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) session in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, a $1 million budget was approved for the APA, marking a significant step in its financial planning.
The decision was made during a meeting of the APA's Permanent Committee on Budget and Planning, currently taking place in Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The approved budget is a key part of the APA's ongoing efforts to strengthen its operations and further its goals of fostering regional cooperation.
Contributions to the budget will be shared among 44 member countries, with the minimum contribution set at $22,000 and the maximum at $50,000.
The APA, which serves as an essential platform for parliamentary diplomacy, is playing an instrumental role in enhancing dialogue and cooperation between the member nations' legislative bodies. As global issues continue to evolve, the APA remains a vital space for addressing key political, economic, and social challenges facing the region.
This plenary session in Baku is expected to further solidify the APA’s influence and cooperation on pressing global matters.
