Azerbaijan expresses condolences over deadly landslides, floods in Ethiopia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan expressed condolences to Ethiopia following the deaths caused by destructive landslides and floods, according to a post on its X account.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and many injuries caused by the devastating landslides and floods in Ethiopia.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones, to the Government and people of Ethiopia, and express our solidarity with people affected by this disaster. We wish a swift and full recovery to the injured,” the statement said.

The heavy rains reflect broader unseasonal downpours affecting the region, complicating relief efforts and increasing casualties in mountainous areas.
Transport routes have been blocked by debris and floodwaters, which hinders emergency response and evacuation, while communities are urged to take precautions, according to the local authorities.
