Azerbaijan evacuates six foreign nationals from Iran PHOTO
Azerbaijan has facilitated the evacuation of six more foreign nationals from Iran.
From 00:00 to 14:00 on March 15, Azerbaijan evacuated five of its citizens and one Chinese national through the Astara border crossing, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
All necessary measures have been implemented at the checkpoint to ensure a safe and comfortable passage, with the process continuing in stages throughout the day.
For the record, on February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, resulting in the death of the country’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and several high-ranking officials. Following this, Iran began retaliatory strikes targeting not only Israel but also countries hosting U.S. and allied military bases, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Cyprus.
As a result, many foreign nationals are being evacuated from Iran via Azerbaijani territory.
