Attack on Belarus to spark third world war President Lukashenko warns
While addressing students, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has issued a stark warning that in case of NATO's attack against the republic, nuclear weapons will be used.
This statement has been corroborated by the Russian Federation, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“I have previously mentioned that an attack on Belarus would be tantamount to a third world war. Recently, Russian President [Vladimir] Putin reaffirmed this by amending Russia’s nuclear doctrine, indicating that an attack on Russia and Belarus would warrant the use of nuclear weapons. He has confirmed my words. The essence of my statement is clear. The Americans and Poles are already positioned along the border, particularly on the Polish side. We know that the Polish leadership is eagerly anticipating such a scenario, should they attack us, we will use nuclear weapons. Russia will support us,” Lukashenko stated.
The president also noted that Belarus is planning to develop a mobile phone with its own software.
"You see, gadgets have turned into tools of warfare. So, this is a matter of national security," he stated. President Lukashenko emphasised that many enterprises have updated their infrastructure, enabling the production of modern buses, electric buses, passenger cars, tractors, and combines that match the quality of the best imported models. "Indeed, we will create our own mobile phone, which is currently a hot topic," he highlighted.
"We have made significant advancements in microelectronics, as well as in information technologies, pharmaceutics, and biotechnology. We even developed our own laptop. This is just a glimpse of our progress. The country is developing, and so are its people," he added.
Moreover, President Lukashenko said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "is not listening and does not want to hear" about the need to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
"Our relationship with the Russians is evident. We are working to maintain normal ties. However, Zelenskyy is currently not receptive to this message and refuses to listen because the Americans are pushing Ukraine toward this war," Lukashenko added.
