Deadly explosion at chemical plant in Northern China kills five, injures two
An explosion at a chemical plant in Wuyi County, located in northern China’s Hebei Province, has left five people dead and two others injured, local authorities confirmed on May 31.
The blast occurred around 6:30 p.m. local time on May 30, within a workshop where a cleaning vessel reportedly exploded, according to the Wuyi County Emergency Management Bureau, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Emergency response teams, including fire, medical, police, and rescue personnel from both city and county levels, were swiftly deployed to the site to carry out search and rescue operations.
The rescue mission has since concluded. Officials stated that the two injured individuals are in stable condition and receiving medical treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion is currently underway.
