Azerbaijan allocates $151.8 million for Nakhchivan development projects
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree providing 258 million manats ( $151.8 million) in funding for socio-economic development projects in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The decree, titled “On Additional Measures to Accelerate the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic,” was published on the Azerbaijani president’s official website, Caliber.Az reports.
The funds will be allocated from both Azerbaijan’s state budget and the budget of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for projects planned in 2026 and 2027.
The investment package will support the expansion of alternative and renewable energy use in Nakhchivan, alongside the modernisation of road and transport infrastructure.
Funding will also be directed toward upgrading educational infrastructure, as well as urban improvement, construction and related development projects across the autonomous republic.
