Azerbaijan approves bilateral cooperation agreements with Turkmenistan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved a package of bilateral agreements and memorandums signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan during a June 22 meeting in Baku, according to the Azerbaijani president’s website.

Among the agreements is a document outlining the main directions for expanding and deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. The package also includes a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the defence sector and an agreement on energy cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.

The two sides also signed a protocol on cooperation in customs statistics related to mutual trade, aimed at strengthening coordination and information exchange in the trade sphere.

Another approved agreement focuses on cooperation in food security, expanding the framework for collaboration in an area of growing importance for regional economic resilience.
