Azerbaijan approves internal affairs cooperation agreement with Georgia
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved a bilateral cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and Georgia, reinforcing collaboration between the two neighbouring countries.
The decision was issued in accordance with Article 109, paragraph 17 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per the president's press service.
The agreement, titled “Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia,” was signed in Tbilisi on November 21, 2025.
Under the presidential decree, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan will be responsible for implementing the provisions of the agreement once it enters into force. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been tasked with formally notifying the Georgian government that Azerbaijan has completed all necessary domestic procedures required for the agreement’s activation.
