Azerbaijan blasts Armenia’s “intentional disinformation” over fake attack claims
The Ministry of Defenсe of Azerbaijan has strongly rejected claims made by Armenia’s Ministry of Defence regarding an alleged shelling incident.
According to the Armenian statement, Azerbaijani military units reportedly fired upon the settlement of Khaznavar between 1:00 AM and 1:15 AM on May 29, causing damage to a residential home.
However, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence categorically denied these allegations, per Caliber.Az.
The Azerbaijani Ministry accused the Armenian side of intentionally spreading disinformation and falsehoods with the purpose of misleading the international community and laying the groundwork for further provocations.
The Ministry emphasised, “The opposing side, deliberately spreading such disinformation and falsehoods, seeks to mislead the international community and create a basis for further provocations.”
Furthermore, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence firmly stated that its military forces have never targeted civilians or civilian infrastructure, asserting, “We declare that Azerbaijani Army units never open fire on civilians or civilian objects.”
